It's a hilarious send-up of coffee breaks, free donuts and cubicle chat in the modern workplace. The last movie I watched was: Darjeeling Limited I'd love to visit: Sailing with friends around Croatia. I'm curious about: Some of the fashion choices people make. Topping my Wish List is: My book becomes a wildly best-selling chart topper, movie rights are snapped up, and I meet Daniel Craig on the ensuing talk show circuit. Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: NPR, Death Cab For Cuties, Turin Brakes, Arcade Fire, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Jack Johnson, Snow Patrol, Bossa Nova. Okay, okay, and I admit…showtunes. Love em. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: My favorite "three on a desert island" books would be A Bear Called Paddington, Catch-22, and Pride and Prejudice. Contemporary favorites are Ann Patchett and Jasper Fforde. Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres: I like the ones that make me laugh every time, whether it's because it's so funny or because it's so awful. I savor well-crafted Jane Austen adaptations. Favorite TV Shows, Actors: CNN. I'm a CNN junkie. I also watch Grey's Anatomy, the Closer, House, Bones and pretty much all sports. I am a huge (sort of annoying) Duke basketball fan. Favorite Places: I've traveled a lot and lived abroad in several different countries. This doesn't make me unique but taught me a few things. I find some of my best recollections of travel are memories of sitting. On the deck of a Sullivan's Island beach house with a glass of wine at sunset. Eating sushi at Sydney Harbor. At the top of Huanapicchu overlooking Matchu Picchu. Owl cabin at the Hedgebrook Foundation on Whidbey Island. Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Hiking the Milford Track, New Zealand. Front row seats at Cameron Indoor Stadium as Duke defeats Carolina in basketball. Atop a horse in the hills of northern Nicaragua. Watching the (stylish) world stroll by in the plaza on Capri. Canoeing in Cesky Krumlov. Enjoying green wine in the Algarve of Portugal. Enjoying a beer in Prague. Enjoying a coffee in Turkey. Freud's Café in London. The Novel Café in Venice Beach, CA. Interests and Activities: Reading, photography, NCAA basketball, travel, hiking and camping. I like to hike, cycle, scuba, ski, golf, play tennis, ride horses, though I'm not that good at any of them since I don't focus on any one thing. Wish List: That all animal shelters become no-kill shelters. That my MINI Cooper convertible, Maisie, lives forever. That we adopt a system to provide everyone with proper health care.
